Numerical Simulation of Solidification Process of Cast-steel Riding Wheel and Its Process Optimization

Combining the traditional method with the numerical simulation technique,the solidification process of cast-steel riding wheel was analyzed by simulation software ViewCast.The position of shrinkage was simulated by the distribution of solidification time.The insulated riser and the pads were added to optimize the original casting process.The improved process was simulated again.The simulation results show that the casting could be fed effectively,the shrinkage defects are eliminated,and the casting can meet requirements of actual produce.
