MEASURATION AND ANALYSIS OF ADSORPTION ISOTHERMS OF BENZENE ON ACTIVATED CARBON FIBRE

Adsorption isotherms of benzene on activated carbon fibre were measured under 298-328 K and 0-1.995 kPa by gravimetric methods using a Cahn-2000 electrobalance.Experiment data were treated by Langmuir equation commendably to got an adsorption model fitting to Langmuir model.The isosteric adsorption heat of benzene was calculated by using Clausius-Clapeyron equation according to the adsorption isotherms.It was proved that the isosteric adsorption heat of benzene decreased with the increase of adsorption capacity.The average adsorption heat of benzene on activated carbon fibre was 39.79 kJ/mol calculated by vant Hoff equation.
