An intelligent cutting tool wear diagnosis and the research on cutting experiments

In this paper,a theoretical analysis on variation of tool cutting temperature and tool chatter during CNC machining is introduced,and proper relations between tool wear and temperature as well as chatter are built.Depending on these relations,an intelligent tool wear real time detecting apparatus is designed and developed based on MCU.This apparatus can alarm as the parameters of a measurand exceeds the threshold.By experiments,the apparatus proves to be efficient for tool wear on-line monitoring.
