High strength, self-activating ability and fast adhesion of polyurethane adhesives based on rosin structure in different environments

The polyol was synthesized using dehydroabietic acid (DA) to prepare the adhesive DAP–PU. And the hydrophobic effect of the hydrogenated phenanthrene ring of the DA was utilized to exclude interfacial water and achieve underwater adhesion.
