Lithium Metal Batteries Li metal batteries are considered to be important candidates for use in next-generation systems, including electric vertical take-off and landing, and even electric airplanes. In article number 2202518, Xin-Bing Cheng, Jingfa Li, Qiang Zhang, and co-workers present a comprehensive overview of the failure mechanism and regulation strategies of Li metal anodes in practical pouch cells. Dendrite growth is among the toughest issues in the pouch cell, which is one of the practical forms for the commercial applications of Li metal batteries.
