Objective To explore the correlation between the adiponectin,leptin,adiponectin-leptin ratio and parameters of insulin resistance in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods Two hundred and fifty T2DM subjects were recruited and their serum adiponectin, leptin,HDL,TG and BMI were measured. At the same time according to their fasting glucose levels, they were divided into the following three groups:group A(7.8 mmol/L)、group B(≥7.8 mmol/L,9.4 mmol/L)and group C(≥9.4 mmol/L).Correlations among adiponectin,leptin,adiponectin-leptin ratio(A/L-ratio),HOMA-R and BMI,HDL,TG were analyzed. Results The level of serum adiponectin was correlated negatively with TG and positively with HDL.The level of serum leptin was correlated negatively with IBM and TG.The adiponectin-leptin ratio was correlated negatively with BMI,TG and positively with HDL.In different fasting glucose groups, serum adiponectin,leptin,adiponectin-leptin ratio,HOMA-R existed different correlations with insulin resistance indexes(BMI、HDL、TG).Conclusion The results suggest that the A/L ratio is an effective index as a parameter of insulin resistance compared to adiponectin、leptin or HOMA-R alone.
