ANALYSIS ON ATMOSPHERIC CORROSION OF WEATHERING AND CARBON STEELS

Variance analysis on atmospheric corrosion data of weathering and carbon steels exposed in Beijing,Qingdao,Jiangjin and Wuhan for 8 and 16 years respectively was conducted.It was found that there was no difference between weathering steels and carbon steels exposed in Beijing.After exposure test in Qingdao,Jiangjin and Wuhan for 4 years,the corrosion rate of weathering steels was obviously lower than that of carbon steels.However,there was no marked difference between weathering and carbon steels exposed for 8 years and 16 years.
