Study of WRKY transcription factor superfamily

WRKY transcription factors are DNA binding proteins that can specifically bind to W-box, and originally isolated from plants. WRKY proteins contain one or two conserved WRKY domains that is com- posed of about 60 amino acid residues with the WRKYGQK sequence followed by a C2H2 or C2HC zinc finger motif. WRKY is a superfamily of transcription factors in the high plant, and there are many genes in it. A lot of experimental evidence show that WRKY proteins participate in various physiological programs, including disease-resistance, senescence, stress responses of biotic and abiotic, growth and development processes.
