Preparation of Environment-friendly PVF Adhesive

The polyvinyl formal(PVF) adhesive was prepared by using polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) and formaldehyde as the main materials.The effects of the mass ratio of PVA to formaldehyde solution,condensation temperature and time,as well as the condensation pH on performances of products were studied.The optimal conditions to prepare the adhesive were obtained under which the strength and water resistance of the adhesive were improved while the free formaldehyde contents were reduced by modification.As a result,the environment-friendly PVF adhesives with good performances were prepared.
