The electrochemical behavior of nobiletin at a glassy carbon electrode has been studied by cyclic voltammetry in pH 2.0 PBS solution. The experimental results indicated that the number of electron and proton involved in this electrochemical reation was 1.A novel method was proposed for the determination of nobiletin by differential pulsed voltammetry(DPV).The peak currents were well-proportional to the concentration of nobiletin over the range from 8.21×10-6 to 1.09×10-4 mol/L(r=0.9923) with a detection limit of 5.47×10-6 mol/L by differentical pulsed voltammetry. The method has been used for the detection of nobiletin in human blood serum samples and the results were satisfactory.
