The influence of nitrogen partial pressure on the nitrogen solubility in nitrogen-contained 316Lstainless steel was studied. Results showed that the nitrogen solubility increased with increasing the nitrogen partial pressure. The controlling nitrogen process was investigated by adding FeCrN(Cr:60%,N:6%)with(0.2-0.8)×105 Pa nitrogen atmosphere in 500kg vacuum induction furnace for melting nitrogen-contained 316Lstainless steel(N:0.1%-0.2%).Results showed that with the nitrogen pressure(0.2-0.3)×105 Pa the yield of nitrogen was 65%-80%.And when the nitrogen pressure was to(0.5-0.6)×105 Pa,the yield of nitrogen was 80%-90%.With increasing nitrogen pressure to 0.8×105 Pa the yield of nitrogen was up to 100%.
