Research Progress in Biosynthesis of Rhamnolipid Biosurfactant

Rhamnolipid is an important biosurfactant with the advantages of biodegradability and high surface activities,and it has broad application potentials.Rhamnolipid is produced mainly by Pseudomonas sp..The recent progress in screening and isolation of rhamnolipid-producing strains,relationship between synthetic pathway and metabolic regulation,optimization and control of fermentation process,construction of metabolic engineering strains with high-yield rhamnolipid-producing were reviewed.And the research trends were prospected.
