Objective To investigate the efficacy of one week combined esomeprazole,gatifloxacin and furazolilone in eradication of Helicobacter pylori.Methods Eighty patients with H.pylori-infected duodenal ulcer were randomly divided into two groups.Treatment group(Group A) received esomeprazole 40 mg,one time daily and gatifloxacin 200 mg,furazolidone 100 mg twice a day.Control group(Group B) received esomeprazole 40 mg one time a day and clarithromycin 500 mg,furazolidone 100 mg twice a day.After 1 week,both groups received esomeprazole 40 mg for 3 weeks.All patients were observed by endoscopy in four weeks after treatment.Results The eradication rates of H.pylori in group A and group B were 95% and 87.5% respectively;the cure rates were 97.5% and 95%,respectively.There were no significant differences in the eradication rate of H.pylori and cure rate between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Triple therapy using combined esomeprazole,gatifloxacin and furazolidone is effective and without side-effects in eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection and treatment of patients with duodenal ulcer.
