Heavy side damage of ship and people loss was caused by ship-ship collisions.Due to the accidents of inland tankers collision, oil was split into the river. The scarce water resources were polluted and people's living standards was threatened. The influence of side crashworthiness was discussed by comparing with different double-hull structure forms in this paper.Under the condition of constant weight of side structure, the impact dynamics analyses were conducted using ANSYS LS-DYNA for the evaluation resistance forces, energy absorption and penetration depth for various collision scenarios, such as thickness of inside and outside shells, the arrangement of side structure and the distances between double skin. The result shows that the crashworthiness of side structure could be improved with increasing the thickness of outer shell and reducing the section size of longitudinal.Contrary to the energy absorption ratio of inner plate of traditional double is low,the influence of energy absorption by the corrugated plate is investigated. The conclusions are derived from the design plans. It helps to provide theoretical suggestions on assessment guidance of the ship-ship collision.
