Rechargeable Batteries: Complex Hydrides for Electrochemical Energy Storage (Adv. Funct. Mater. 16/2014)

A new family of solid-state electrolytes—complex hydrides—possesses fast ionic conductivity and electrochemical stability. Recent progress on the development of fast Li-ionic conductors based on the complex hydrides is reported by S. Orimo and co-workers. Success in stable battery operations of the bulk-type all-solid-state lithium rechargeable batteries are demonstrated using LiBH4-based electrolytes.
