Motivational and Demographic Factors in Failure to Adapt to the Military

As the military becomes increasingly “high-tech,” training costs escalate, and it becomes more and more important to identify as soon as possible those individuals who are not suitable for the military. Yet in the last 10 years there has been little published research in this area The present study looks at the role of demographic and motivational factors in identifying those who will be unable or unwilling to adapt The implications of these findings for military recruiting practices are discussed.
