The idea behind our project is as follows the efficient operation of the turbine depends on thecondenser. One of the way we found in our careful study of the plant is to optimize the condenser andcooling tower.The condenser is a heat exchanging device, which is used to condense the steam. While condensing thesteam, scales are formed on the inner surface of the condenser tube. Scaling in the condenser reduces theheat transfer rate and hence the vacuum in the condenser tends to be poor. The heat transfer performancewas studied before annual maintenance, the water circulating between the condenser and cooling tower istreated with the chemicals or bio-absorbants to reduce the scale formations on the condenser tubes toimprove the performance of the condenser and cooling tower operation.
