Effects of Shirexiao decoction on cytokines of IIIA prostatitis

Objectives: To observe the therapeutic effect of Shirexiao decotion on IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α levels in the massage fluid from the patients with ⅢA prostatitis.Methods: 120 cases of ⅢA prostatitis were randomized into treatment group and control group,which were treated with Shirexiao decotion and Yinhua Miyanling tablets respectively.The IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α levels were detected by ELISE after 28 days.Results: After a course of treatment,the IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α levels were significantly decreased(P0.01).The IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α levels of treatment group decreased more than those of the control group(P0.05,P0.01).Conclusion: Shirexiao decotion is effective in decreasing IL-1β,IL-6 and TNF-α levels of ⅢA prostatitis,which is likely to be the mechanisms of Shirexiao decoction in treating ⅢA prostatitis.
