This paper analyzes the theoretical models, algorithms and characteristics of the fully distributed fiber optic sensors based on Raman optical-fiber frequency-domain reflectometry and time-domain reflectometry. Compared with the ROTDR sensor, the ROFDR sensor has the advantage of reduced noise, adequate SNR and short measurement time. Furthermore, the computation result shows a clearly low temperature error and a high spatial resolution of the ROFDR sensor, indicating its promising future.
