Optimization of no-nutritional conditions for production of mycelia from Cordyceps sinensis by submerged culture and immunomodulatory activities of mycelial extract
Optimization of no-nutritional conditions for the production of mycelia from Cordyceps sinensis in submerged culture using central composite design and the immuno-modulation activity of HWE were carried out.As results, the optimal culture conditions were determined as following:22.64 ℃ temperature,6.18 pH and 7.36 d cultural time.A yield of 21.73 g/L for mycelial biomass was observed in verification experiment.Furthermore,HWE from mycelia of Cordyceps sinensis was found to have direct immunomodulation activity on splenocyte proliferative response and enhancing ability of devouring neutral red in mouse peritoneal macrophage in a dose-dependent manner in vitro. The hot-water extract of Cordyceps sinensis fermentative mycelia possesses notable immunomodulation activities and has the potential to be used as a functional food.
