Development of Powder Forming for Metal Alloy and Metal-matrix Composite

Powder metallurgy is one of the major methods for preparing alloy and metal matrix composite,and the powder forming is a critical process of powder metallurgy.The development of metal powder forming was introduced.Forming principle,technical characteristic,development and limitation of powder compacting,powder extruding,isostatic pressing,warm compaction,metal injection molding and spray forming were summarized.It is considered that the compaction homogeneity and efficiency of pressure forming should be elevated,organics removal rate of warm compaction and injection molding should be improved,and spray forming can be developed to a process of compact material preparation.
