摘要
Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) is an electrochemically induced emission where the nature of electrode materials strongly affects the kinetics of the heterogeneous electron transfer with an impact on the final ECL performance. Different types of electrodes have been tested in view of their nanoscale properties. In this review we summarize the ECL behavior of various types of nano-structured electrodes highlighting the capability to enhance the ECL signal using different coreactants. Signal generation strategies and analysis of the applications are discussed in detail with particular attention to the challenges and future prospects in the field of ECL.
