摘要
BACKGROUND: Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a noninvasive technology that targets chromophores in the skin through selective photothermolysis. IPL system with a 755-nm filter penetrates the reticular dermis to generate photothermal effects. However, the clinical efficacy and collagen remodeling mechanisms remain underexplored. OBJECTIVE: This study evaluates the efficacy and safety of the IPL system with a 755-nm filter in improving skin photoaging and laxity among Asian patients with Fitzpatrick skin types II-IV. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A cohort of 61 patients with Fitzpatrick skin types II-IV (55 females, 6 males; mean age 36.05 ± 6.84 years) were included. Treatments were administered in 3 phases. Efficacy and safety were assessed through medical photography, VISIA skin analyzer, infrared thermography, and VAS pain scores. RESULTS: Immediate facial tightening and jawline contouring were observed post-treatment. Infrared thermography revealed a dose-dependent temperature increase correlated with treatment parameters. 63.93% (39/61) of patients reported VAS pain scores ≤1, while transient erythema (n = 6) and acneiform eruptions (n = 3) were noted as minor adverse events. No severe complications occurred. CONCLUSION: The IPL-755 nm system offers a safe and effective approach for facial rejuvenation. Nevertheless, the long-term mechanisms of collagen regeneration require further investigation.
