Coparenting and Intervention Science: A Bibliometric Analysis

Intervention programs that focus on supporting coparenting relationships are increasingly recognized as effective tools for building more resilient family systems and improving child development. The purpose of this research is to examine literature published in WoS-indexed journals on intervention programs for the enhancement of coparenting relationships. Adopting bibliometric analysis to analyze coparenting-focused intervention research trends, this study reviews 96 articles published between 1999 and 2025 in the Web of Science database. The results reveal a growing interest in coparenting-focused interventions, particularly after 2010. Mark E. Feinberg is the most influential author, and Penn State University is the leading institution. The dominant themes are coparenting, intervention, parenting, and prevention, indicating the focal point of coparenting in research on interventions. Collaboration networks indicate a North American focus of research with limited international collaborations. Findings call for greater geographic diversity, interdisciplinary collaborations, and broader exposure within child development and education research communities to further advance the knowledge and application of coparenting interventions.
