Therapeutic approaches that target the gut microbiota may be helpful in the potential prevention and treatment of membranous nephropathy (MN). Several studies demonstrated a correlation between gut microbiota and MN. However, the confounding evidence cannot prove a causal relationship between gut microbiota and MN.
