Cellulose nanocrystals prepared with 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([BMIm]Cl) and HCl, H2SO4, or H3PO4in a one-pot process under dilute conditions are investigated for changes in CNC dimensions, crystallinity, and thermal stability.
