摘要
Laser-induced graphene (LIG) is a three-dimensional porous material directly scribed from polymer materials by a CO 2 laser in the ambient atmosphere. We review the formation mechanism and factors of LIG to obtain the strategies of improving LIG microcosmic configuration to control the pore, composition, and surface properties of LIG, as well as the advancement in methodology to convert different carbon precursors to LIG. Based on the characteristics of LIG, the applications of LIG in a series of energy storage devices such as supercapacitors and batteries are highlighted. Up to now, with the deepening of LIG research, a system based on preparation of LIG with different substrates and composite material synthesis, and various applications has gradually been being formed. The recent advances of LIG as a new type of carbon-based material in the preparation and applications are reviewed. With ultrahigh specific surface area and excellent electrical conductivity, LIG can be well applied to the field of energy storage. Meanwhile, the simplicity of the preparation method, low cost, and precise control of processing conditions will make LIG a hot topic for energy storage materials to support the development of micro and wearable devices in the near future. • The latest advances of laser-induced graphene (LIG) in energy storage devices are fully discussed. • The preparation and excellent properties of LIG applied in different devices are reviewed. • The research methods of further modification of LIG properties are summarized. • The current opportunities and challenges in fundamental studies and further expanding application fields are presented.
