Dispersion Characteristics of Bent Radiating Waveguides

Dispersion properties of closed and slotted radiating bent rectangular waveguides are rigorously studied. Our analysis shows that the propagation constant changes significantly when the waveguide is curved. This change depends on the particular mode, the curvature radius, the operating frequency, and the geometry's properties (e.g., existence or non-existence of slots). For different bending angles, leaky-wave phenomena are studied here across the spectrum of the different dispersion characteristics.
