A novel series of the picolinic acid derivatives containing triarylamine units were synthesized through diazo-reaction,Ullmann reaction and Suzuki coupling reaction.Their molecular structures were characterized by 1H NMR and element analysis. The influence of the phase-transfer catalysis on the Ullmann reaction and the effect of molecular structures of bromo-triarylamines on Suzuki coupling reaction were investigated. The results show that Ullmann reaction and Suzuki coupling reaction exhibited a good yield of 48.9% and 25.8%,respectively.The approach is available to synthesize picolinic acids derivatives.
