The Effects of Russula subnigricans Hongo on the Ultrastructure of Mouse Liver and Kidney Cells

Toxicity tests in mice with the crude extracts of Russula subnigricans Hongo were carried out.The LD50 of the crude extracts of Russula subnigricans Hongo was determined.Transmission electron microscopy was used to observe the histopathologic changes in the poisoned mice.The result showed that the LD50 of the crude extracts of Russula subnigricans Hongo was 2 852.1 mg/kg.Electron microscopy analysis showed significant changes in kidney cells of the poisoned mice,including cell nuclear membrance swelling,mitochondrion cavity and kidney cell necrosis.
