Research on Application of Phase Change Material in Leather and Its Thermal Properties

A kind of phase change materia1(PCM) was applicated in leather in order to control the temperature and improve the dressing ability.Thermal properties of PCM and phase change leather were studied and the suitable addition amount of PCM into the leather was also found.The results showed the enthalpy of phase change materia1 was 85.09 J/g and the phase change temperature was in the range of the human comfortable temperature.The best effect could be obtained when 4% of PCM was applied on the leather by brushing.The phase change leather is 2～3 ℃ lower or higher than the normal leather,thus the temperature can be kept cool or warm for 0.5 hour in the cold or hot environments.
