Recent technological progress in production of vinyl chloride by calcium carbide process

The recent technological progresses in the production of vinyl chloride by calcium carbide process,such as calcium carbide production,acetylene production,acetylene purification,recycling of calcium carbide sludge supernatant,recovery of acetylene in calcium carbide sludge,acetylene dewatering,vinyl chloride synthesis and vinyl chloride dewatering and drying,were reviewed.It was indicated that the technological level of calcium carbide method PVC production in China was no longer low.Some shortcomings of the production process were pointed out.
