Studies on the constituents of Citrus medica L.var.Sarcodactylis

OBJECTIVE To study the constituents of Citrus medica L.var. Sarcodactylis (Noot) Swingle.METHODS The constituents were isolated and purified by chromatography with silica gel column and Sephadex LH 20 gel column.Their structures were identified by physicochemical properties and spectral analysis.RESULTS Ten compounds were isolated as 5,7 dimethoxycoumarin (limettin) (Ⅰ);7 hydroxy 6 methoxycoumarin (Scopoletin) (Ⅱ);7 hydroxycoumarin (umbelliferon) (Ⅲ);7 hydroxy 5 methoxycoumarin (Ⅳ); p coumaric acid (Ⅴ) and 6,7 dimethoxycoumarin (Ⅵ),limonin(Ⅶ),nomilin(Ⅷ),stigmasterol(Ⅸ) and β D glucoside(Ⅹ).CONCLUSION Compounds Ⅱ～Ⅳ and Ⅹ were isolated from Citrus L. Compounds Ⅸ was isolated from this plant for the first time.
