摘要
The α+β class of titanium alloys are widely used in the fan and compressor stages of jet engines, due to their excellent strength to weight ratio and corrosion resistance. Near a and α+β alloys such as Ti-6242 and Ti-6-4 have exhibited sensitivity to cold dwell fatigue, resulting from the formation of commonly oriented a particles called microtextured regions [1-2]. This paper will review some of the progress conducted under the Air Force funded Metals Affordability Initiative, program on the ICME of Microtexture Evolution and its Effect on Cold Dwell/High/Low Cycle Fatigue Behavior of Dual Phase Titanium Alloys [3].
