Highly Efficient Alkene-Alkene and Arene-Alkene Coupling Reactions with Vicinal Dibromides

All articles of this category Palladium-catalyzed twofold coupling reactions of 1,2-dibromocycloalkenes 4 , 7 with alkenes 2 give high yields of ( E , Z , E )-1.3,5-hexatrienes 5 , 8 which thermally cyclize to ringannulated 1,3-cyclohexadienes 6 , 9 . Two-, three- and fourfold Heck type coupling reactions were also achieved with vicinal di- 13 , tri- 16 , and tetrabromobenzene 18 under appropriate conditions.
