“Cool-off” Function of a Silicone Pressure-sensitive Adhesive Containing a Side-chain Crystalline Polysiloxane

We have first developed a silicone pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) containing a side-chain crystalline siloxane, whose adhesion can be controlled with a change in temperature. The silicone PSA shows a “cool-off” function, whereby it loses its adhesion below the melting temperature of the crystalline unit and gives enough adhesion above that.
