Study of bax gene in taxol-induced apoptosis in HL-60 cell line

Objective:To observe whether antimicrotubular drug taxol might induce apoptosis in HL-60 cell line and to study the role of bax gene in the process. Methods:(1)Different concentrations of taxol were used to treat HL-60 cells and the effects of dose were observed;(2)Bax gene mRNAs were studied by RT-PCR technique. Results:(1)Taxol could inhibit HL-60 cell growth within a certain range of treating dose;(2)Apoptosis was induced in relation to dose ;(3)The expression of bax mRNAs was increased after taxol treatment. Conclusions:Taxol can induce HL-60 cell apoptosis.It might provide a theoretical basis for clinical treatment.Bax gene participate in the taxol induced apoptosis of HL-60 cells.
