Cause Analysis on Outlet Tension Fittings Overheating of 500 kV Substations

In recent years,the fittings overheating occurred several times in the outlet of substation or power plant in Liaoning province. And some fittings were even melted and broken by the overheating. This paper analyzes some typical cases,focused on the causes of fitting overheating. And it is proposed that the main causes of overheating are due to poor contact and the overload circulation of nondiversion fittings.
