Since the introduction of glyphosate-resistant (GR) soybean, growth of this herbicide resistance trait has been very rapid in soybean, cotton, maize and conola, overreliance on glyphosate in GR crops has led to the evolution of GR weeds. Therefore companies are rapidly developing crops that combine glyphosate resistance with resistance to herbicides with other mode of action. These multiple herbicide-resistant crops will give growers more options to manage the evolution of resistance weed currently available and GR crops will continue to play an important role in the agriculture.
