The influences of soil bulk density on infiltration rate, accumulative infiltration and wetting front were studied by one dimension vertical infiltration experiment in this paper. The experiments results showed that soil infiltration characteristics were greatly affected by soil bulk density.Infiltration rate, accumulative infiltration and wetting front depth decreased with the increase of soil bulk density in the same infiltration time. The greater the soil bulk capacity, the larger the infiltration decrease ration μ and η,respectively compared to the based accumulative infiltration and the based wetting front depth. The greater was the soil bulk density, the less was the steady infiltration rate. There existed a linear relation between the accumulative infiltration and the square root of time and the parameter M decreased with the increase of soil bulk density.A power relation was built between the depth of wetting front and time. The parameter A decreased with the increase of bulk density, but the parameter B had not significant difference. The parameter M and A had a power relation with bulk density. The research results are made for quantitative analysis foundation in prediction the relation of the soil water movement parameters and bulk density.
