To observe the effect of bupivacaine combined with morphine applied in brachial plexus block and postoperative analgesia, and then to investigate the mechanism of anesthesia and analgesia for morphine. Methods: 50 patients with ASA I -II were randomly divided into two groups. 0.375 % bupivacaine was used in A group, while in B group , 2mg morphine was combined with 0.375% bupivacaine. The above drugs (25 ~ 35ml) were adopted for brachial plexus block. The onset time, the time for whole blocking and the duration of anesthesia and postoperative analgesia were observed. Results: The effect of anesthesia and postoperative analgesia in B group was obviously superior to that of A group. Conclusion: Besides in the central nerve system, there are also opioid receptor in peripheral nerve system.
