The Hydrogenation of Acetic Acid to Ethanol over Supported Pt-Sn Bimetallic Catalyst

Pt-Sn/M(M=SiO_2,γ-Al_2O_3,Tift) catalysts were prepared by impregnation method.These catalysts were employed for the selective hydrogenation of acetic acid to ethanol on micro-reactor.Compared with Pt/SiO_2catalyst,Pt-Sn/M catalysts exhibited excellent catalytic activity;these catalysts were characterized by XRD,H_2-TPR,XPS,BET and NH_3-TPD.The Pt-Sn/M catalyst prepared with weak acidic support(SiO_2) is favorable to the selectivity of ethanol.
