Comparison and Selection of Deepwater Subsea Connectors

Subsea connectors are one of the most important facilities in subsea production systems.The selection of their types is critical in the subsea production system design.Different types of subsea connectors from foreign companies were investigated,and were categorized into some groups.Based on these categorizations,the characteristics and application of each type was analyzed,resulting in some key points that should be considered in subsea connector selections.The Gemini gas field was taken as an example to illustrate the process of the connector selection in a subsea production system.
