Li_4Ti_5O_(12) and its application prospect in lithium-ion battery

The structure and characteristics of lithium titanate(Li4Ti5O12)were introduced,and the electrochemical performance of Li4Ti5O12,charge and discharge capability,cycle performance,rate capability and low temperature characteristic were analyzed in detail.As a new anode material for lithium ion battery,the spinel Li4Ti5O12 has the excellent performance of long cycle life,high safety,and good low temperature characteristic,which is applicable to the hybrid electric vehicles and electric vehicles.But the power density and the specific capacity are expected to be improved and the cost of battery is expected to be decreased.
