Marine Biodiversity Study in Chengmai Gulf of Hainan Province

The Chengmai Gulf situated in the proximity of Haikou, capital city of Hainan Province is an important area with respect to its marine ecological quality, which will affect the city's future development. This paper reports on a survey of marine biodiversity conducted in July 2004 in the sea, involving the monitoring of the plankton and benthos regarding their distribution in terms of features and quantities, dominant species, biodiversity index and ecological uniformity.
