Microbes which can degrade terephthalic acid, the digradation mechanism, kinetics characteristics, factors inhibiting degradation and the relation between compound structure and degradability of terephthalic acid are described.Advice is offered concerning biological treatment of industrial wastewater containing terephthalic acid.
