Continuous wave spectral width of surface-emitting lasers

Measurements of the continuous wave spectral width of GaAs gain-guided surface-emitting lasers are reported. The linewidth is found to vary inversely as the output power with a linewidth-power product of 92 MHz. This value agrees well with the calculated result.
