Under some circumstances it is desirable to compare the factor patterns obtained from different factor analyses. When the number of factors and variables are the same for each subpopulation, it is often possible to apply a rotation technique developed by Bloxom (1968) which simultaneously rotates different factor patterns to maximum similarity and varimax simple structure. The technique is described, computer algorithms are outlined, and a numerical example is given.
