Using an orthogonal method, this study investigated the bonding strength of plywood made by modified soybean protein adhesives under different experimental conditions such as hot-pressing temperature, time, pressure, and amount of adhesives. The results indicated that the bonding strength of plywood increased significantly when hot-pressing temperature increased from 130 to 160℃,or when hot-pressing time increased from 30 to 60?s?mm,or when hot-pressing pressure rose from 0.6 to 1.0?MPa.After 1.0?MPa,the rising tendency of the bonding strength slowed down. The plywood achieved a maximum bonding strength at the amount of adhesives of 310?g?m~2.The optimum technological parameters are suggested as follows: hot-pressing temperature 160℃,hot-pressing pressure 1.2?MPa,hot-pressing time 60?s?mm,and amount of adhesives 310?g?m~2.
