Maleic anhydride-acrylic acid copolymer(PMAAA)was synthesized with maleic anhydride(MA)and acrylic acid(AA)by the free radical water solution polymerization in which AA was supplemented in batches.The structure of PMAAA was characterized by FTIR.The influence of reaction conditions on the conversion of MA was investigated by the orthogonal test and single factor experiments.The results show that,when n(MA)∶n(AA)is 1∶2,dropping time of AA is 1.5 h,reaction temperature is 85 ℃,reaction time is 2 h,the mass of initiator ammonium persulfate is 8%(base on total mass of reaction materials).The conversion rate of MA is 72.78%.
